Now

Updated October 2026. What I'm actually spending time on, not the highlight reel.

Go fundamentals

Finishing the boot.dev Go course — enough to write a small concurrent program (goroutines, channels, a TCP listener) without looking things up.

Strangler facade

A reverse proxy in front of a legacy JSP product, routing some paths to new services. Timeboxed to 2–3 weeks, ends with a written design critique: failure modes, capacity numbers, what I'd change.

The rule I'm working under

Hand-write in any language I can't yet review confidently (Go, Kotlin, Rust, Swift). Let agents write where I can (Java, Spring). The skill that matters isn't typing code faster than an agent — it's being able to read what one produced and say whether it's right.

This is a now page.
